Engelberg is located 25 kilometres south of Lake Lucerne in a wide high valley at around 1,000 m above sea level. The surrounding mountains are dominated by the 3,239-metre-high glacier and local mountain Titlis and the 2,600-metre-high Hahnen. In winter, they guarantee snow until well into spring. Named one of the top 10 ski resorts in Switzerland, Engelberg is also known for its varied skiing and freeride area.
